Privacy choices

Access, correction and deletion requests

The GW Race Control app does not create a general consumer account. It uses event-specific access issued by an organiser. You can still request access to, correction of or deletion of personal event data.

Start with the organiser when possible. The event organiser normally controls participant registration, official results and event records and can identify the relevant data fastest.

What you can request

  • A copy of personal data associated with your event participation
  • Correction of inaccurate contact, registration or participant information
  • Deletion or anonymisation where no lawful retention reason applies
  • Restriction of or objection to certain processing
  • Withdrawal of public tracking visibility or optional activity-use consent
  • Revocation of private participant access or a connected Strava authorisation

How to submit a request

Email hello@gwracecontrol.com with the subject “GW Race Control data request”. Include:

  • your full name;
  • the event name and approximate date;
  • your bib/race number or distance, if known;
  • the email address used for registration;
  • what you want us or the organiser to access, correct or delete.

Do not send identity documents in the first email. We will explain a proportionate verification method if one is necessary.

What happens next

  1. We identify whether SIA Random Projects or the event organiser is responsible for the request.
  2. We verify the requester sufficiently to protect the participant from unauthorised disclosure or deletion.
  3. We locate relevant event, mobile, tracking and activity records.
  4. We respond within the period required by applicable law, normally one month under the GDPR.

Data that may need to be retained

Deletion is not always absolute. Limited information may be retained where necessary for legal obligations, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution or the integrity of official event results. If an exception applies, the response will explain the category and reason.

Mobile access and Strava

Signing out of the mobile app revokes the current mobile session and removes local session data. It does not automatically delete the organiser’s underlying registration or official event record.

Strava access can also be revoked from the athlete’s Strava application settings. A deletion request can include activity data previously imported into GW Race Control.
